Tired of silly debate about “Capitalism Vs Socialism”. It isn’t an “either/or” situation. Markets work best for most industries/services, but not all. Debate should be about the role of the State in regulating markets for the greater good, & the services that should remain public

Free market vs socialism more apt. Group identity makes poorer choices than individual competition of ideas. Why should the state be the default regulator? For many consumer and digital products this isnt the case

Why should state be involved in regulation? This example should be enough: Credit rating agencies!

Competition needed....and due diligence. Bondtraders who rely on a one liner when making trades are morons.

The biggest problem is related to “breaking the rules” to gain advantages and increase profits. This leads to a race to the bottom. Regulation that is robust and transparent is essential. Only possible with public (State) oversight

Legislation yes, oversight no. Assumes legislation best way of regulation. An opinion but not a truth. Problem is subcontractors not insisting on retainers to cover bankruptcy. Package holidaymakers have better protection through ATOL.
