Britain is the only country in the world where the state-broadcaster, paid for by the people of the state, is permitted to in some cases openly in others by implication, campaign for the break-up of the state which pays them. Talk about hating the crown loving the half-crown...

Yes, something has to be done about it. Regional BBC is fine, as is BBC radio in general. What should be abolished are BBC political programs with their high paid personality presenters. They are only journalists for goodness sakes. Who are these people??

Deregionalise. It has fed the beast and itself needs starved. SKY is not regional. FOX and CNBC are not regional. Let's have a BBC. I don't need to know if a chicken crossed the road in Auchendoodledoo.

Good point. It's just that the regional presenters, whether it's politics or otherwise, don't have the huge egos we've grown accustomed to on Newsnight for eg. It's way too big, and so much could be chopped without any loss of public service.

They have agendas, worse than egos. An ego's spine doesnt snap under pressure. BBC folds to Nat bullying all the time.
