There is no escaping this. In a democracy there isn't a prize for everyone. If Labour and Tories aren't trying to win constituencies then they're not trying to govern. Basic maths, without the constituencies you cannot govern.https://twitter.com/LesleyRiddoch/status/1382597147980406787 …

Think it’s a realist approach. I think most will concede AS and DR aren’t going to be First minister after May. We seen Jo Swinson claim she was going to govern and got laughed at from most. Labour and Conservatives know they are fighting to be main opposition for 5 years

They've thrown the towel on the sun loungers. They need to move aside next time for those keen to govern and take responsibility and risk in improving this country.

Yeah I understand anyone’s aim shouldn’t be second place but I don’t think anything else is achievable this campaign. There is no party capable of govern expect the snp. There voter numbers are to far ahead to be caught this election.

Opposition is a dress rehearsal for government, not an alternative career path.

Yes totally agree. Labour and Conservatives ultimately want to govern Scotland. However that’s not achieve in May,even the most hopeful voters will agree. For me it’s a long term aim. I don’t see any short term plan that will get either into holyrood to govern.

Both them as opposition in the last few years have been just as bad as Snp record in government I feel. They need to sort themselves out and get a plan in place. Labour more so, they took Scotland for granted and need a reset which we could be seeing. Tories never done well here

They don't want to. They're coasting. They had every chance to work together.

We’re going to disagree on the working together plan. I do understand the thinking behind it but I don’t think it’s a long term plan. It’s a stop gap. Labour and Conservatives disagree on lots expect the union can’t see it being a successful way to defeat snp long term personally

Hence @unionistsonline are standing in the by-election. We cant keep indulging these failing tribute acts. They need shoved out of the way if they won't see the bigger picture.

Yeah we agree there! We can’t keep going on with the same failings. I just think it’s a long way back and more years under Snp governing unless opposition improve voter numbers to get into a position to govern or voters are willing to buy into alternative plans.
