Why Nats are trying to smother Gaelic the same way is beyond evidence let alone reason. Celebrating it more widely through a kind of Eisteddfod would be far better for the QUALITY of Gaelic spoken and written. I'd support that very much.

We have the Mod, a celebration of the Gaelic culture. I wouldn't want to do away with that, but we shouldn't be forced to learn something we're never likely to use.

It is dying simply because it’s utility is dying.... - just following the same path as Latin

It's value is cultural and historical. Gaelic poetry and music are superb. As a cultural export, tastefully marketed, it would be a great benefit to the Highland economy. Bilingual train signs in Airdrie, less so.
