Look around you. It’s a disaster.
So do it off island, in a way that does not compromise UK integrity. Or the UK can just pack up and ditch the NIP with no solution. This is an EU matter. Their law can deal with it perfectly well. They may not want to, but they can. Article 349 is the legal process for it.

For health matters (SPS), fine, the island of Ireland is a single epidemiological unit, I think everyone understands that and would support *proportionate* measures. But why else should anyone tolerate a hard border? What for? Rules of origin? Seriously?
