A 4% NHS pay rise is not a bribe. The SNP have read the room on this. There has been low wage increases in the NHS for a long time. Yes it means in theory less money to spend elsewhere, but one has to factor in the cost of the loss of staff to other sectors as the econ recovers.

Only a rise for some NHS staff. Hard lines on those with very uncertain employment prospects

Sure, but AfC staff negotiate together. Docs negotiate separately and so far have been offered a 2.8% rise which means junior docs paid less than senior nurses are getting less, one for
@JohnFerry18 But an 11th climbdown with unions on pay is not an electoral bribe.1 antwoord 0 retweets 0 vind-ik-leuks -

Last minute climbdown before purdah. Choices 1. Fold and offer nurses 4% instead of 1% interim 2. Hold out, try for a lower offer that staves off strikes but have to take a month of shit during an election with no way of replying. No contest.
