Prince Philip being transferred to an NHS hospital should put the myth of private hospitals being somehow better to bed. Much like Boris and Covid the only reason they go there is security, not quality of healthcare. Private hospitals *can’t* treaty strongly acute & critical

Does anyone argue that NHS isn’t the best place for highly complex, ultra acute or very rare stuff? Private tends to be better in many ways for elective straightforward work. Eg convenience, wait times, food, privacy, ability to work, choice of doctor etc.

In a true free market the NHS should bill private hospitals for post care complication. Private emergency care is almost a misnomer in the UK.
