Burgundy pricing is the new catheterisation: thoroughly adept at taking the piss.

Bordeaux has been pissing claret for years. I have never understood these overpriced Burgundys. About as faddish as Super Tuscans or the garage vintners. Im looking at importing some Georgian cases. Providence matters more than marquetting to me.

The quality that Bordeaux offers at modest prices (Beaumont, Cissac, Senejac) is impressive. See also the Rhone (Saint-Cosme, Soumade, Maby). Burgundy feels like a bubble.

Senejac is good, in my experience. Yeah, Sauternes may have shown the way that Burgundy has now gone: huge prices, but just no-one much in the real world paying them.

I sold out after holding for years. Small outlay but it flatlined. EP is a waste of time these days. Most houses have cash in the bank so dont need to strike it right on EP. Too many chancers. Why pay for storage for a wine that wont appreciate in 5 years?
