Should we have to tell a doctors receptionist what is wrong with us when we call? They are NOT qualified and have NO right to ask us for our personal and private information. Something has to be done about this as it is getting out of hand.
People have issue with the receptionist acting as gatekeeper for the clinical staff

So do I. I've no experience of them ever acting in that way and my surgery has a notice at reception and on its website saying that you don't have to answer questions if you don't want to. Expecting Dr Finlay to answer the phone is the least of my concerns about the NHS.
