Should we have to tell a doctors receptionist what is wrong with us when we call? They are NOT qualified and have NO right to ask us for our personal and private information. Something has to be done about this as it is getting out of hand.
Common sense does not exist in medicine. Risk management must be robust. Receptionists are not guardians and should not behave as it they were. Difficult job, massive legal liability for GPs

Ok, thanks for the reaction. I have had a *lot* of interactions with the NHS (Scottish version or otherwise) - and I've got to say the Receptionists have been the least of my worries

That's fine. They should not be screening by clinical priority because they cannot make that objective assessment.
