I'm pretty great at dermatology (arrogant, I know). But... I'm anxious to see people with dark skin as the lesion looks different from the patterns that I recognise. Improving my knowledge of dark skin conditions is harder than it should be. We need to change this

Tbh it's a question of scope vs cope. Not everyone can do everything. I've long thought at primary care level there needs to be a clinical lead in dark skin dermatology. Too often its led to 2ary referral ( expensive, delayed ) or poor service. Best to have a few experienced GPs

Articles calling for "decolonialisation" of dermatology are quite absurd and cause friction and a sense of neglect. Better to see it as an emerging challenge that simply needs redress through a dedicated service. GPwSI would be ideal here, especially in bigger cities.
