The 12 Guinea Scotch ale is turning out beatifully. Required two days in a low temp over to carbonare right but this'll be a lovely treat by March

100% Golden Promise malt, special brewers sugar added later. Small amount of American hops. Splash of caramel Edinburgh ale yeast. (home grown so to be extra fresh) 11%

Sounds great. I mainly use syrups. But I have tried from scratch once and it turned out beautifully. However it was also around £3 a pint, compared to a few pennies a pint with the Coopers syrup.

It was one of those kits you get with the grain, the hops and everything you need. It was lovely. But it was a present. I wouldn't spend that myself. Yes, if you have some links to some good recipes that would be great. Thanks!
