What is your point and why do you feel that is relevant to my questions? I am accountable to the GMC as are you for any clinical comments I make. I am a member of the RCS. I do not practice currently and I have chosen not to for my own reasons.

Aren't you criticising
@devisridhar for lack of clinical experience and training. Isn't it true that junior doc clinical rotations (your highest clinical training) involve little/no training in public health and epidemiology? I don't understand why you feel qualified to comment.1 antwoord 0 retweets 18 vind-ik-leuks -

She has no clinical qualification or body to hold her to account. I make no claim to be a public health physician.

You've asked us to discount
@devisridhar 's opinions based on what you consider to be a lack of relevant training, but you appear to have no relevant training or expertise yourself. Exactly what research do you do for Bow Group and what are your relevant qualifications?2 antwoorden 0 retweets 20 vind-ik-leuks -

So you're using
@devisridhar 's education/training/experience to undermine her authority but you're uncomfortable sharing your own background so that we can judge you on the same basis?2 antwoorden 0 retweets 12 vind-ik-leuks -

Try again. She has made multiple very public comments on public health which is a clinical speciality. My work is private. If I make public comment it is evidence based. You made your judgement of me off the bat and it will not change regardless of what I say.

So what you're saying is that Nature, Science, the New England Journal of Medicine, the Lancet and the British Medical Journal consider her public health research worthy of publication but you have decided that she is unqualified to comment on public health matters?

Sorry Don what is your point here. She has no clinical qualification. That is my point. What is yours?

My point is that she is commenting as a world renowned researcher. The fact that she didn't train as a UK public health clinician in no way invalidates her opinion on COVID policy and you shouldn't imply that it does.

Where she trained does not matter. She is commenting on clinical strategies without qualification. Global Health is a not a clinical specialty, it is a political discipline.
