There are no COVID deaths, cancer deaths or any other kind of death. There are only deaths. Well done for raising this. Without counselling and a cooling period many women are pressured into abortion to save careers or relationships. It's not liberating. Far from it.

Whilst counselling is important for some, it isn’t for everyone. The alternative is not forcing all women to follow through with unwanted pregnancies. What’s your source for thinking more women are being pressured to abort rather than the opposite?

98% are done on grounds on mental health without any assessment under the MHA, no clinical assessment of any kind, and in an age distribution consistent with career pressure. Very few are teenage. Pregancies are unplanned for many. They should plan. Contraceotion is free.

Plenty prioritise their career, that’s perfectly ok. Nobody wants to have to have an abortion but contraception isn’t 100% effective. Also, presumably 98% is all cases without fatal foetal abnormality? Is mental health grounds simply the criteria necessary for elective abortion?

"Doc this woman is so mentally ill she doesn't even need a formal assessment to prove it" "OK, so she can't consent" "Oh yeah, she can consent. She's not that mental" "Gotcha, so she needs counselling" "Doc you're just being evil now"

Here’s the thing - it doesn’t matter why a woman needs an abortion. It’s her human right to have it & it’s not for you, or anyone, to question why. What matters is that safe healthcare & support is there for her. As a doctor, you should know better. Shame on you, little man.

No. The law gives no right to end life. A woman has no more right to end a child's life than a man has the right to beat a woman. Abortion is allowed on balance of risks to mother. It is not a right to end life for the sake of convenience
