Current power demand is 47GW. We're back to burning coal. Wind has dropped again today. You can build all the ventilators for COVID19 you want. Waste of time if we have a blackout. We are getting too close, very little capacity left. https://www.gridwatch.templar.co.uk/

That's not how generation capacity works. Rate of delivery is what matters. We have little reserve left and continue to run down coal and nuclear. Increasing reliance on wind just magnifies the problem.

I agree about wind but I thought we could call up extra from abroad? Please accept my sincere apologies for the ‘lie’ comment.

No worries. Wind relies on having a lot of reserve generation from gas turbines, but the charts show in winter they're basically maxing out. So if the wind drops back, we are in deep trouble.

Always amazes me when I see the turbine not turning. I also wonder how ‘green’ they really are. Sea or wave power seems an interesting if not a viable option?

wave is a form of wind, tidal has a lot of potential
Het laden lijkt wat langer te duren.
