Debenhams and Arcadia prove one thing. We need a law UK wide to limit debt funded buyouts, certainly to prevent the dividend gouging we saw from Philip Green, and private equity vultures at Debenhams.

Fair point about the warehouse issue. And i can see the case for reducing tax on the high street stores, but to take away pressure, but i think that we have no choice but to tax companies like amazon a heck of a lot more to better balance things, and recover some more revenue.

Amazon is taxed fairly, the issue is its margins are low which is their business decision. You could argue lack of transparency on where profits are allocated but that's a global issue that UK alone can't fix and the likes of Ireland don't want too.
