yes - on current numbers, assuming we lose the UK’s abatement, a net contribution of £670m (iirc about £450m with the abatement correctly applied, but i’d need to check)

I suppose an intelligent 'separatist' might argue 'if the right thing to do is to get into a large secure fiscal pooling excercise, then the EU is even better'.... to which one points out that it currently does not work so well.

well quite - and as you know it’s not the same sort of fiscal union - there is no EU welfare state!

The EU is a market union, not a welfare union. So not really redistributive.
