There needs to be a party that is unashamedly pro-motor. Pro-petrol, diesel, turbo-charged freedom for the ordinary person. Damn those who would tax all but the rich off the roads. Same people who'd have ten workers in London living in one room. This isn't green, it's feudal.

They will only be un-economic because of government policies to make driving a petrol car prohibitively expensive. That's the point. I suspect the cost of driving full stop will rise considerably, as it always does when things get "better"

Petrol could 40p a litre. LPG 30p. Fuel has been run as a hydraulic economy for years, squeezing people. Liberal Tories will have ten Poles in a room, and no workers driving cars so ease their souls about the climate. Housing poverty, fuel poverty both come from a scarcity fetish
