I don’t understand the reference to “indefinite detention” ? This does not exist - time limits apply and are extended as required under judicial supervision - there is no reason to remove that system which continues to work at this time.

Bill is proposing temporary suspension of statutory time limits for obvious reasons. With no new jury trials commencing - as Scottish Courts announced recently - there is no possibility of giving a date to the accused of when they would face trial.

So they remain at home, on bail or otherwise, or they continue to be held on remand. So what?
