(Sorry to break my own rule re. not tweeting about #coronavirus but I’m confused)
Quarantining people is disruptive and costly. Testing people is possibly more costly, but less disruptive.
Wouldn’t it then make sense to test *everyone* in key roles - every MP for example?

Quarantine people help to expand time of contagion, this means that more people can be cured without collapsing the healthcare system.

In general, yes. I don’t deny that. So test those whose roles are crucial then? Like MPs who’d need to take decisions on

In principle you're right but contagion doesn't distinguish between MPs and no. But I really dunno what is right, I merely follow the rules.

There are plenty of key groups, not only MPs. I’m trying to see if there is any sense at all to Commons meeting even though Dorries has Corona. I’ve yet to find one.

Mass testing is a poor use of resources, as WHO told me by email when I asked. Problem is testing is PCR based, you'd need daily testing of people else.

Ok. But there is a line somewhere - if MPs think it’s important to keep Commons open, surely regular testing for them makes sense?

To what end? In a dynamic environment you are chasing your tail. Better to exclude them and defer votes and debates. The Lords however, given their age, is a death trap.

You mean exclude the ones known to be infected? Or quarantine the whole lot of them, now, because of Dorries?

Latter. The papers coming out on the benefits of early mass quarantine show the evidence is overwhelming. You go in hard, very fast, take a hit, slow spread so that acute care capacity is not totally overwhlemed.
