Michael Bloomberg's candidacy for the Democrat nomination in 2020 is effectively over tonight. If he were to run as a third candidate, he would risk getting Trump re-elected. But might do so if Sanders is the nominee?

Biden is the DNC's boy. Sanders won't be allowed to play. Bloomberg would be far far better as an independent.

Bloomberg surely can't win the Presidency as an independent against Trump and a Democrat in 2020. Donald Trump would win the electoral college very easily if Bloomberg ran as an independent and Trump had 40% base who backed him

Trump couldn't win in 2016. Polls said so.

Not really. The polls showed him trailing by a narrow margin, but didn't say he couldn't win - because the polls aren't an electoral college. He trailed by a narrow margin, and won the electoral college. The difference is the loyal Trump-approvers 40%

Also has a big anti vote. A strong personality could do it. Not a political hack.

If he's unpopular 45-55, then the maddest thing to do is to run two candidates who get >10-15%

If @MikeBloomberg really wants DNC to reform he should go for it. For as long as they think biz as usual could win, they'll go with it. They won't reform by choice
