The issue is not the chlorine. The issue is that the US washes their chicken in chlorine because their food standards are so low in the first place. Untrue it is notoriously difficult to measure food poisoning because most people never present to hospital or a physician. In addition many countries do not keep accurate statistics nor report such statistics to central authorities. The USA does report the data
