There is a recession and banking crisis looming, with the EU pushing for control of corporation tax and the BEPS economy. The King was well received in Dublin in 1912. History comes at you fast. Certainly no chance of Irexit currently.

I very much doubt if the EU will drag Ireland into a world war and execute its leaders any time soon.

You'd hope so, though the UK went into WW1 to defend European democracy....and succeeded. Hardly an Afghan or Boer campaign.
