A lot of people rejected leaving the UK as they were told it was the only way to stay in the EU. Naturally, they are unhappy about that. Hardly a tantrum.

And the FM spent a fortune hiding legal advice on the EU that didnt exist. Rerunning the scenarios is not useful

Not only is there a tangible change in circumstances, the Spanish PM actually interfered to make the point last time that Scotland could not remain in EU. The situation couldn't be more different.pic.twitter.com/NrMl4CqO5Y

Oh this is one to share with
@gorbalsgoebbels@BrianSpanner1@dhothersall@MrTCHarris A change of Spanish PM is now the standard for a "change in circumstances." Magic.2 antwoorden 0 retweets 4 vind-ik-leuks -

What?? Lol could you misread it anymore? Or are you trolling? The change of circumstances is that they could REMAIN in the EU as rUK leaves, as opposed to REAPPLY as a new independent country. "Change of Spanish PM..."

Your suggestion that an independent Scotland could remain in the EU is not true.

No it is possible. Just not under current circumstances. Would of course require political will and possible treaty change but that's because the situation is unprecedented. So is Brexit for that matter. EU needs to wait to see how debate progresses before making any comment.

Why would Spain allow a secessionist state into the EU? Why would Spain support a state that presumably gained its independence via the SNP, staunch supporters of Catalonia. It’s political naivety to the max.

You're being generous in calling it naive.
