It was very strange behaviour. Coupled with non compliance of order to submit evidence, I can’t help thinking the courts are being goaded.

Not smart. SpAds are rarely legal eagles. Barrack room legal advice is dangerous in a position of responsibility let alone power. Btw anyone has a right not to submit a statement unless subpoened.

Have to agree, judges will not like being perceived in hindsight to have facilitated non compliance with constitutional conventions or acts tantamount to holding Parliament in contempt. It will push them toward framing the issue differently than they otherwise might have done
