Come for the look on @glennmcgrath11’s face, stay for the roar from @Aggerscricket at the end.
The moment @benstokes38 & @jackleach1991 won it.

@PeterKGeoghegan this (and yesterday’s debacle on the rugby pitch) is why Irish people really shouldn’t gloat on Twitter...1 antwoord 0 retweets 2 vind-ik-leuks -

I fear we are about to witness something similar in politics. And we’re going to be the fall guys.

How do you think things will shake out? I fear that unlike today there’s not going to be any winners (financialised capital aside) and lots of losers

Genuinely, I think Brexit is has largely been a case of asymmetric warfare. Leo’s leading us all into an ambush.

I’d agree on the asymmetric warfare (with multiple asymmetries). What does the ambush look like? Feels like there’s an ambush for Ireland regardless: hard to see how ‘Global Britain’ sits alongside 2019 Ireland

Ireland gets pumped and dumped by Brussels. It is a Franco German club. Everyone else is on for the ride. Economic wellbeing under essentially German rules. That's the trade off. But it's the wellbeing of the union that counts. Hence Ireland got NAMA as a medal for taking part.

It certainly is now you lot have lost your nerve and walked off the pitch. To suggest that it was beforehand is pure revisionism. The Brits (when they cared to have a coherent foreign policy) were a key pivot in Europe. That's now in the bin.

Oh for sure. But it was never on an equal basis. Our job was essentially the voice saying slow down, be cautious, not yet, open up. We moderated a solid Franco German union. It's a success of sorts. But was this existential for us like it was for them. No.
