This intellectual deconstruction of the Farage Surge is bizarre. People voted to leave the EU. We haven't left the EU. That's it. We don't need a thousand word thesis to explain or rationalise it. It's as complex as 1+1=2, and about as surprising as the sun rising in the morning.

James, I love you. But Nigel Farage is now overtaking the Tories in Westminster opinion polls. What is the game here. Defending our intellectual positions. Or trying, somehow, to stave off political catastrophe.

I envy you, to be honest. I wish I could sanguinely suggest that we crack on & deal with the consequences. But, from Minford to Gov impact assessments, I haven’t seen any serious analysis of the consequences that isn’t terrible. And we should all resist the prospering of cheats.

You're losing. The misery dialectic of remoaners surprisingly isn't wooing voters. Keep it up and Nigel will be holding up the next coalition government.
