Partial Mash then :D. There was no reason not to bake everything, that means there was intention to dilute the process at least.
The problem is finding ovens large enough. Even baking 1/3 of the mash required 3 separate bakes taking 12 hours. So in fairness they seem to have tried pretty hard.
told you so ;-) I guess you not only have to find a very big oven, also arrange the mash very flat to mimic the geometry of smaller-scale baking, surface tending to be ^2 and volume ^3, so extra extra difficult to scale.
