1/ In some ways the Latin market is a huge success for
@ScotchWhiskySWA and its members. But they admit frustration at red tape and other barriers to trade.https://www.heraldscotland.com/news/17551991.guisqui-galore-how-latin-americans-are-taking-on-scotch/ …2 antwoorden 2 retweets 3 vind-ik-leuksDeze collectie tonen -
2/ Take Argentina. Three quarters of the whisky market there is made up of local producers - Scotch accounts for most of the rest. Argentinian Whisky has traditionally been a substitute for Scotch blends, often with some Scotch association. `That's changing.

3/ So in Argentina, there is a craft single malt. Clearly inspired by Scotland or Ireland - check out the Celticky musak in its publicity - but also determined to be its own Patagonian thing.https://www.laalazanawhisky.com

Great. In the end uprating local malts can act as a gateway to premium Scotch. France moving away from vin ordinaire boosted their industry's reputation.

Good point. Having a big and sophisticated market in itself is a good thing
