There is an arrogance and delusion that cannot be shaken. That to many in Ireland, a united Ireland seems fair enough, political union with Germany is fine but mention Ireland returning to the UK and they melt down.

Nope they teach their kids their history, good AND bad. Most Germans are ashamed of the holocaust... British and their empire, not so much. You'd swear you went around the world handing out toffee and crumpets, not a gun in sight.

Hardly, my family came over after the Hunger. There is a lot of history beyond that period. We would not have a Commonwealth if we didnt get on with so many former colonies.

By landlords, very badly. As was the case across the islands. Feudal landlords are shite. That does not define any part of me or other in the UK today.
