Just two minutes after my GP surgery opens, I am already caller number 28 in the queue to speak to a receptionist - who will tell me the next appointment will be a month away. The gateway to healthcare here is shut
Having worked in several A&Es I can say it is not lame. Most immigrants being younger do not need admission. Two issues with immigrants that are real: 1. More likely not to see GP first. 2. IF their English is poor, takes longer to assess. Age by far the biggest driver of demand.

I spent 11 hrs in A&E with badly fractured wrist whilst the local Roma were there in great numbers using it as a GP's surgery. Also full of drunks and drug takers. It is society that is broken pls don't blame it on the elderly. I looked after my frail mum until she died aged 99

This is not blaming.

Also I needed to take an hour off work to see the GP and had to wait over an hour as there was an immigrant before me with both a social worker and an interpreter. Increase in population has to be a factor not all because some people are fortunate in living longer.
