Cutting rotas was desirable 56 hrs is still worked by many but no one wants the 80-120 hrs worked when I qualified when an A unit of OT was paid at 1/3 of base rate and B units at 1/5 of base ; the good old days not.

The EWTD was popular and meant JHDs got a life but basic pay was not realigned most made up their pay from overtime.
