Frank Field was about to be deselected by his local Labour Party after voting to prop up the Tory government, and jumped before he was pushed. End of story.

If you were fighting Tory disabled sanctions I doubt very much that you would be saying that.

He's really not. He benefits massively from being in a safe Labour seat. His CLP have been unhappy with him for years.

This is someone highly unfamiliar with Birkenhead CLP

One of the most popular MP’s?. Are you actually familiar with Merseyside politics?. Frank Field wrote for the S*n and has repeatedly praised Thatcher as his Idol. He’s been despised for years within the Labour Party and on Merseyside in general. Most are glad he’s gone.

76% voted for him last GE, highest share ever for that seat. 25k majority. What a roaster!

As a constituent of Frank and a member of the local Labour Party he is absolutely not. The reason why he has been continually voted in is because he was in the Labour Party and the fact he has never stood down.

76% vote share, rising since 2005. Not bad. 25k majority
