What a nonsensical generalisation. Why do we patronise women to assume they are all being forced to wear it rather than a free choice about their own religious/moral observance?

Because the evidence says so. Have a look at women from the 70s in Iran and Afghanistan before Islamism was promoted. If it were free will there would have been very little change

That’s not evidence. Correlation does not imply causation. Could it be that divisive, hostile language, as used by Bozo, fuels fundamentalism in some and drives others to demonstrate their faith more overtly? It’s basic psychology and it’s why his article is so irresponsible.

Attacking Bozo’s irresponsible article does not equate to supporting the burka. I’m taking him to task because his mocking, divisive tone will make the burka a more, rather than less, common sight. But as an inveterate attention seeker, he’s not really interested in fixing things
