Not really, Scotland can join the EU independently of what happens in the Irish border. What the EU and Scotland does with its customs with England and Northern Ireland if it does leave the UK is another matter. Scotland has been out of a CU with England AND Ireland in the past

What it means is Scotland and ROI would be in one customs union, England and Wales would be in another and Northern Ireland would be caught in between.
