Despite popular belief, the blue collar trades are full of brilliant, engaged, articulate people. That swear a lot.

You want to know what’s wrong with Alberta today? People block you if you tell them the truth. Despite his claim, S 92 will not over rule the FCA ruling. We need real solutions, not made up ones.

Actually, Mr. Genuis, your party's changes to the legislation governing the NEB in 2012 gave the final say on NEB projects to the Governor in Council (cabinet) and that legislation gave the current government the power to put an end to NG. /2

This is embarrassing. My MP whines are demands and does nothing but get drunk at Committee meetings. We deserve better.

I know all too well the dangers of presidents issuing sweeping orders in the name of “national security” as Trump just threatened. FDR—a Democrat—issued an order that put 120,000 people including me and my family into barbed wire camps. It can happen here. It has happened before.

This guy never learns. If you put a deadline on consultations, how can you be seen as operating in good faith? That Harper approach to forcing things through is what got us here in the first place. Albertans need to learn about our country and stop listening to charlatans.

My God...we have a parliamentary system requiring a Leader of the Opposition to be designated in the House of Commons. How can this guy write about politics when he is intellectually unaware of basic features of parliamentary versus republican systems of government?

When did Ontario have a carbon tax? Blatant lies. When are Canadians going to wake up to the populist menace that is taking over? They lie. They cheat. They do not deliver their on improbable promises. They are frauds and crooks.

“Us vs Them”. Intolerance and separatism are the common themes of rising populism. Anger fueled by misinformation is how they mobilize followers. They want you to feel victimized by “them”. Sounds familiar? It’s here, in Canada.

Conservatives know pricing pollution works. It’s what PM Mulroney and Bush 41 did so successfully to eliminate acid rain in 90s. And it’s what Stephen Harper once campaigned on. Scheer knows all that. But he doesn’t care. He just wants you to not know the difference.

This sort of absurdist rhetoric isn’t mere nonsense. If we actually want TMX built, if we want C-69 amended, we need sensible dialogue with our fellow Canadians. Setting our hair on fire won’t help. Worse, such conspiracy-mongering risks inciting truly dangerous mob reactions.

“Unions are sort of an odd duck. They aren’t part of the apparatus of the state, yet they depend crucially on state protections in order to wield their power.” Yes truly odd, unlike limited liability corporations and partnerships which were born fully grown from Zeus’s skull.

Old enough to remember the time in 2018 when Trump/Ryan/McConnell shut down the government because we couldn’t afford $3.4B for health care for low-income kids. But please, lecture us about how spending $5B on an ineffective wall is in our national interest.
