Tower of Babel - God wasn’t worried that humans would advance too much in a good way. It was a symbol of humanity’s arrogant pursuit of power. If we are in a time that is resurrecting it, you’re smart enough to figure out who is behind it. Hint- It’s not Putin.

Great podcast, as usual, from . But we need some pushback on the comforting idea that social media makes us worse. Isn't the uncomfortable idea that social media reveals who we are more likely? The devil, or anyone, didn't make me do anything. I did it.

I agree that "social media is bad" has become a pretty facile talking point. At the same time, it can't merely reveal—it must also affect us, for better or worse, because we are caught in a reflexive system with it. Not unlike the observer effect in physics.

Social media has become an oxymoron. It’s tribalism on steroids. There’s nothing social about it. It’s fringe ideologues masquerading as “progressives” when in reality they’re activists who think calling out and attacking everyone with a differing opinion is virtuous.
