Laird Barron is one of our great writers. He's also a sweet and generous man. When I first moved to L.A. to be a screenwriter, I cold emailed him and he spent 90 minutes on a Zoom with me. It was a thrill and it meant so much to me. I'll never forget it. Please give if you can.

Laird Barron is ill and needs our help. He's a dear friend and has been a champion to so many young/new writers. Thank you @misanthropemike and @MrGaunt for setting this up. Follow @MrGaunt for more updates and info on Laird's health. gofund.me/635fcb17

Laird Update the Latest (5): To this end, we’re setting up a Go Fund Me to assist with Laird’s medical expenses. And by we, I mean, Mike Davis. The fundraiser will go live tomorrow afternoon. A number of you have asked if you can do anything to help Laird out. (Cont’d)

Here's the essay I've been bleating about for a while. It's even prettier printed (the liner layout is just beautiful) but while you wait for the physical disc that you've definitely already ordered to arrive, here are some bonus features.

Sorry, I was hacked. I've taken back control of the account from this jackass crypto bandit after a non-fungible fiasco, although their tweets are still up. Thanks to everyone who reached out. Not good.

Georgia promised not to try to execute a man if he agreed to plead guilty to a double murder and never challenge his conviction. When DNA evidence positively cleared him, the State argued he was still bound by his promise.

Today was my last day with The Hill after 10 years covering Washington politics. It's tough to leave but time to try something new. I won't be reporting any more but will be working on writing projects in Los Angeles. Stay in touch or look me up if you're out that way.
