99 smartphones are transported in a handcart to generate virtual traffic jam in Google Maps. Through this activity, it is possible to turn a green street red which has an impact in the physical world by navigating cars on another route!

Going on in 10 minutes - I was able to add some last minute really cool examples of how to use to compliment - The CNCF has the coolest projects. See everyone either online, or in Brussels in a few minutes.

I just finished "Seven Surrenders" by Ada Palmer and I am feeling this. There's a third in the trilogy, but I'm worried.

You are welcome! I am imagining that someone, akin to Leonard in mid-2004 , has probably tried to make macaroon macarons or macaron macaroons. I wonder what those would be like

“There is always something worth saving that can be built upon.” How many times do we see change efforts that disregard the current state and humans in the process. I’m loving this book! Thank you

Amazing: a trail of termites (up) and a trail of ants (down), both protected by a row of their soldiers in a stand-off, without fighting. from

I marvel at how the world has changed. A helpful example? A young colleague had not heard about pair programming, so she simply thanked for the micro mob session. Micro mob. Think about that. Then consider how odd pairing used to sound.

This question is like slanted light illustrating something: the cloud and the mechanisms that created the cloud, capitalism in general, vlarge firms owned by vfew vrich people, little or no antitrust, and certainly no protection of customers power by regulators, only ever prices.

Here is my tiny Winter Trees generator. Initially I was going to share the link a bit later along with the post about how it works (and what else the algorithm can be used for), but...

On the one hand, people are generally trying their best. On the other hand, if we find the right change to the rules, people can generally do better than they are doing now. These are not contradictory. Protect, support, and assist the people near you!

Yes! You might want to combine tiles rendered by PICO-8 with a map generated on the backend using clingo like in Adam M. Smith's Map Generation Speedrun:

"naturally occurring" polytime tends to have fewer than trillions in the constants and fewer than 12 in the powers (see Hutter's "Shortest and Fastest"). I would not be happy to say all polytime integers "exist". 10^144 is more of a position in a game we play, not a kind of pile.

Reading "So You Want To Be A Wizard" and then (eventually) working as a programmer in New York has not prepared me for this:

I believe "immediately running the code that you just wrote, frequently and easily" is more central to TDD than assertions / expectations. live-coding environment can yield many of the same benefits, if you can narrow your view and only and immediately run what you changed.

"Gold, an opaque metal, [...]" is *such* a good hook for a sentence, I love it.
