A private jet produces 10 times the emissions per person as an economy class flight. World leaders used 400 private jets for , emitting as much CO2 as 1,600 Scottish people do a year. Lifestyle changes should start with the rich and powerful.

Hurtling forwards towards ruinous climate emergency, and backwards to a return to conflict in N Ireland. Brexit is a reactionary response to the crisis of late capitalism, while climate change is the result of that crisis.

Transport is the single biggest cause of GHG emissions in 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 Only one of these leaders governs a sector with attacks on workers, cuts to services and rising ticket prices. Shameless greenwashing. Fight for and genuine democratic public ownership.

Green-sounding rhetoric is now the trend. Cop26 will be a lesson in greenwashing. It will provide a way for nation states and the fossil fuel companies who created the climate crisis to present themselves as being part of the solution.
