Public (Government-run) schools fail kids. The free market rarely does. Private schools around the world ALREADY work wonders, even for the poorest kids. #SchoolChoiceWeek twitter.com/JohnStossel/st

Nothing free market about school vouchers. Free market would be parents paying for their own kids education. If I am paying taxes for your kids then I should have a say so on how my taxes are spent.

Supreme Court answered that a long time ago. You don’t have a direct say how your taxes are spent on schools, just like you can’t tell the Army where to bomb, just because your tax money paid for 0.0000001 of the asset.
You can vote. Like always.

How many charter schools are closed do to mismanagement? Maybe if we invested more in teachers we could get a better result? Or parents take an active role in their child’s education rather then treating schools as s day care? Hmmmmm?

how many public schools SHOULD be closed due to mismanagement but aren't because there is no accountability?

Lol. You’re insane. I love how public schools worked incredibly well for decades but then once racial segregation was attacked suddenly y’all needed a free market “solution”. Be honest, it’s fundamentally not about education. It’s about something else.

It fails when there’s moral obligation but no profitability, John. Morals matter. We’re not savages. I’m sure you can think of examples where ‘free market’ results in a bad outcome

How many “public” charter schools were owned by politicians? How many have failed? It’s not all roses.

Education is a large money pot. 3/4 of property taxes are for schools.
