It is bad news but typical that Certain people are only concerned when taxpayers get to keep more of their money. This problem has been building over many Administrations and congresses of both parties. MAYBE WASHINGTON SHOULD STOP SPENDING!!

@POTUS has to spend money to fix things, for the US to be competitive again. You can't reverse the debt without first fixing our means of production. Things are looking up, relax.

GOP only cares about debt and deficit when a Democrat is in the White House. The Bush years showed that, but then again, there was a GOP congress for much of Obama's term.

I agree but the problem is NOT the amount of money collected from hard-working Americans. Our government has completely lost control of the span of scope of programs, spending, etc. Gov’t is involved in way too much that it, constitutionally, had no business ever considering!

Ok, what was debt when he inherited it? Not saying adding to it was right thing but don’t blame him for total debt. It was $19.1T when he took office and it’s increased by a trillion. But, BTW he just tried tried to trim budget only to have it voted down.
