@ametsoc launched the Station Scientist initiative nearly 15 years ago just for this purpose. The broadcast meteorologists represent the most scientifically-knowledgeable individuals at each media outlet. We’re expected to explain much more than the weather forecast. (5/)Show this thread -

I believe a lot more can be done on communicating the state of the science of climate change. A handful of us have been doing it for 15 or 20 years, but we’ve curiously been considered mavericks. Now there’s a growing swell of broadcast meteorologists... (9/)
