I agree that gun ownership can keep people/families safe, another thing that helps is keeping guns out of the hands of people with medically certified emotional disturbance, and/or histories of domestic violence.

While I am delighted to see you finally moving towards sensible gun legislation, what took you so long? You have signed EVERY PRO GUN LAW that hit your desk until this year -- what caused your conversion?

He's pro-2A, but doesn't accede to one political side. That's why NRA gave him an "F" after he voted for assault weapons ban in 1994, and endorsed his *Dem* challenger over him in the 2010 OH gov's race. It's also why some on left swallow the talking point you give here.

Again, he's pro-2A, which is why he signed them. However, as evidenced by facts I cited above, not to mention gun *control* bill he sent to the OH House yesterday (see article). Accepting funds from a group isn't selling out one's principles, unless you then do exactly what the group demands you do, which Kasich definitely does not. I say this without snark, but you need to step out of the echo chamber, breathe the clean air.
