After a controversial penalty against @serenawilliams at the #USOpen2018, she showed how to be a real sport, a total class act and a great champion.

Wow, a screenshot of a headline. Another example of how 90% of the people on twitter don’t actually use any actual information before reacting

Have to disagree. I am a Serena fan but she was a bad role model today for all the youngsters that idolize her. Really embarrassing childish performance. She is better than this and the fans at stadium were very classless at Osaka. Disappointing day all around.

No she isn't. Sports is an emotional activity. She's been subjected to disrespect her entire career but where was your energy about that? Serena is a human, children are humans. They need to learn that being upset or emotional is part of humanity and not about class.

Let's all remember that Osaka had already won the first set, and was only one break away from legitimately defeating Serena Williams. Of course Serena figured out a way to discredit Osaka's very legitimate and impending victory. Does anyone honestly think this wasn't calculated?

That is the dumbest thing I’ve read today about this. Did you ever play sports? Is that your value system that you are projecting onto someone else? Great players lose. They get beaten. The point is that umpires cannot use their power to influence a game

Shon, yes I’ve played tennis my whole life. Why would Serena even care about one point so much against a 20 year old. She totally melted because she felt the pressure. Try and picture Roger Federer acting like that. Give me a break.

Whahaha. Serena should have kept her composure Johnnyboy. She new what could happen if she behaved like she did. What if Osaka did what she did? People/press would burn her to the ground. Serena damaged tennis and what shouldve been a party for well deserved champ Osaka.

That’s the least she could have done after creating the toxic atmosphere which occasioned the booing in the first place. Shameful behaviour by her to start with

Yes, she lost her composure but that last penalty wasn’t right. Once the match was over she was very gracious towards Naomi telling the crowd to stop booing & to celebrate her win.
