Just a reminder that, when it comes to background checks, the armed forces are rather more rigorous than the Postal Service.

Governor before you start spouting out at the mouth get the facts first. I understand you are a Trump Hater and want to see him fail but get the facts. I trained recruits in boot camp in the Navy under the same program, something had to happen with the recruits to get discharged

Has it occurred to you that precipitating event was the change at the White House? :-|

Is that what this is about, people who are getting booted before BASIC training? I have to do more research on this now...
-
Yes people who haven't even shipped to basic training yet, it's amazing how this has been so poorly reported but then again we live in strange times

This is part of the MAVNI program (allowing 5,200 green card holders per year expedited citizenship) which is under review. In Sep 2016, the Army made it compulsory to maintain VISAs WHILE IN "delayed entry". In June 2018, the Army indicated it would cancel 1,800 applications.
-
Two affected immigrants had canceled students VISAs, which violates an Army requirement for the program. Also, I saw the Army had some problems completing background checks of other applicants. There are still a majority of MAVNI applicants whose contracts were not canceled.
-
This appears related to the Pentagon imposing NEW RESTRICTIONS and vetting requirements for immigrants following election of
@realDonaldTrump. Also note, the cancellation of 1,800 applicants comes on the heals of a classified OIG report indicating problems with the MAVNI program. -
I imagine these 1,800 cancellation are related to findings in the OIG report...I would bet my last dollar on it...the timing is too close for coincidence.
