It's relevant that the US has a much younger population than Italy and that we are a much wealthier nation.

Nearly 19,000 Americans have died. Quibbling is not the right response. 3.7% of US cases so far have ended in death. This is a terrible tragedy. We need to focus on a science-based response, medical surge everywhere & sustaining incomes, so we can save as many lives as possible.
