Hamas rocket attacks deserve strong condemnation. Israeli strikes into Gaza killing civilians also demand international opprobrium. If Israel shows the courage to support a two-state solution, more Palestinian leaders & people will reject violence & marginalize Hamas.

I always found it difficult to fathom how a nation of people deeply scarred by a history replete with prejudice, religious persecution, & unspeakable violence perpetrated against them would not be the empathetic champions of those whose rights & freedoms are still abridged.

Civil rights icon Vernon Jordan lived his life trying to make America a better place for all. A tenacious advocate of equal opportunity, Vernon spearheaded a groundbreaking study on the need for more diversity & inclusion in CIA’s workforce. He was a good friend & will be missed.

Saying that Saudi Crown Prince Muhammad bin Salman was responsible for the horrific murder of Jamal Khashoggi is not holding him accountable. The Biden Administration needs to do much more. No meetings with senior US officials and no visits to the US would be a good start.

It is unfathomable how Mitch McConnell can deliver such an embarrassing soliloquy explaining his vote for acquittal on impeachment. At the same time, he is making a very strong case & is providing explicit language for the criminal indictment of Donald J. Trump for sedition.

By a 57-43 majority, with seven Republicans voting with the majority, the United States Senate says that Donald J. Trump incited an insurrection against the United States of America. Forty-three U.S. Senators should forever hang their heads in shame.

A military officer making an unlawful & seditious call for insurrection to overturn the outcome of a presidential election would be courtmartialed, even if retired. The Senate has the duty to hold a Commander-in-Chief similarly accountable. Donald Trump is guilty as charged.

These are the words of a man with no conscience, no integrity, & no interest in doing the right thing. Lindsey Graham & other Senators who hold this view are unworthy of public trust. History will judge them as it should—political cowards who betrayed their oath of office.

House impeachment managers providing compelling evidence that Donald Trump provoked, encouraged, & abetted the deadly insurrection at the Capitol. Trump acted as a lawless thug, inciting his fellow lawless thugs. Only dishonest & self-serving Senators will vote to acquit.

Ending U.S. support for Saudi Arabia’s military misadventure in Yemen is long overdue. The humanitarian disaster that has befallen Yemen requires international assistance & cooperation to help address deep-seated political, economic, & security problems. Time is of the essence.

First Amendment rights do not include spearheading a premeditated assault on American democracy. The world is watching whether we are strong enough to hold the guilty accountable. The Senate can show we are by prohibiting Trump from ever holding an office of public trust again.

Wonderful to see competent, non-ideological, & apolitical leadership return to State. Secretary Blinken has extensive experience & will represent America exceptionally well on global stage. State employees deserve an enlightened leader; they now have one.

Well-known disseminators of disinformation must be going nuts with all this White House emphasis on facts, science, expertise, honesty, & transparency. It feels so good to once again have an Administration that is committed to telling the truth to the American people.

Martin Luther King Jr. We honor his memory by remaining true to the principles, ideals, & human rights that he fought for throughout his life. As John Lewis said, “Good trouble.” Joe Biden & Kamala Harris are worthy stewards of MLK’s legacy. A new day is dawning in America.
