    That is the big question, and will fuel cells be better. As a transition for human health and utilising existing vehicles this addresses human health & eutriphication from air pollution. Mass transit is needed using electric power grid, as lithium has an environmental cost.

    ⁦⁩ the technology exists to convert existing cars, a huge market could rapidly exist in conversions, government support in training & charging network this could happen.

    I know he has to prep the ground, but why not just say we’ll be getting rancid chicken that will put you in hospital and beef so pumped with hormones it would embarrass a Bulgarian shot-putter and have done with it? We all know it’s coming so why bother with all the pretending?

    and of course Europe is nearer so a small carbon footprint in transportation. Whilke USA ignores climate issues, rest of the world should have Iran-like sanctions against it!

    Johnson confirmed in his speech today that he aims to follow the US approach to food standards & aband the EU's approach. This would mean cheaper, lower quality, less safe food imports; and would signal an end to the large scale export of food products into the EU.

    I well remember the proposals, but it would all be considered 'sanction busting' now. Another example of US disastrous foreign policy (if you even call it that)

    Iran has so few that it is unlikely to be able to risk sending any to India. Long time ago there was a proposal to exchange Asiatic lions and Asiatic Cheetahs between India and Iran.

    If Iranian cheetahs go extinct, I will certainly blkame the USA and its sanctions. The National Parks and their staff are dedicated, but lack funding. Been there and seen it first hand

    3/ tries to supplement in situ actions with captive breeding, but there are 3 problems: 1/ funding ( wiped conservation funding) 2/ capacity (no way for int'l engagement) 3/ public outrage, notably animal right groups + some academic biologists
