Indeed, if methane emission reductions now are promoted on the basis of allowing us to delay developing resilience or cutting CO2 emissions, then that would actually commit us (and future generations) to more severe impacts.

our government broadcaster is pulling the same trick with stories designed to tell people there are reasons why we can't make the required changes necessary to put a dent in the warming. i'd flag 2 for that this morning so far. :(

1) mitigation: both CO2 & CH4 cuts are urgent today to meet Paris goals
2) adaptation: we are not adapted to climate change happening today. Adaptation investment is urgently needed. CH4 doesn't buy time here either
